Artist Highlight: Paul Mondot & Wake (UK)

For the first release of the new year, we have some new names on the label! 'Feel 4 You' is a collaboration across continents between Paul Mondot from France (now based in Bali), and Wake from the UK.

Who are you, and what do you do?

Wake and I are both DJ and Producer. He is from UK and I’m from France.

How did your latest release on Dobar House come to be? Tell us about how you started the track, what inspired you etc.

The story behind “Feel 4 you”. It started with the track ‘Goodtimes’ A deeper vibe with a nice rollin' baseline for your early set or late afternoon groove. We wanted to bring an extra track to this one, more punchy and clubby!

This is how ‘Feel 4 you’ idea starts in our heads. A slightly more Housey tune with dope rhythm, perfect to get the early dancefloor going.

Where was your favorite gig so far and why was it special for you?

Favorite gig for Wake is GottaGroove, that’s his own event he runs in the UK and swear the vibe is fire!

On my side I recently moved to Bali and any gigs here are very special because of the people! The vibe is always on point and the racers are open to everything! I love exploring sounds through my sets.

If you had to choose: DJ-ing or producing?

We believe DJ-ing and producing are complimentary. When you DJ it brings you the creativity you need, using the vocals, analyzing sounds and matching the right tracks. That’s the way every projects start in the studio. So for us both are very essential.

What's next for you in the coming months?

We both have a lot of unreleased music we can’t wait to share and many events coming with dope Artists. 2023 is an exciting year!

Dobar House is an amazing label because it releases music people truly feel and dance to. With their huge events and their consistency with the crowd, they allow producers to release and play music the mainstream labels won’t accept! THANK YOU FOR THAT!!! MUSIC FOR THE SOUL!
