We spoke to Toomy Disco about his debut Dobar House Gruv release - Paralyzed EP

Who are you, and what do you do?

I'm Marijn Iliuță also know as Toomy Disco and I have been a DJ & Producer for more than a decade. I am half Romanian on the father's side and half Argentine on the mother's side and I am currently based in Buenos Aires, Argentina and I love it!

How did your latest release on Dobar House Gruv come to be? Tell us about how you started the EP, what inspired you etc.

Some time ago we made contact with the label boss Tom Bug in which he proposed me to be part of this great imprint. It took a few months for me to have something I was happy with to send to him. But finally some time ago I was able to finish this great EP "PARALYZED" which I think fits perfectly with the vibe of the label and I'm very proud of it. I could say that it is a set of tracks inspired by this new wave of the return of House / Deep House / Minimal with good vibes from the 90's. Purely created for the dance floor!

Where was your favourite gig so far and why was it special for you?

One of my favorite concerts which I will never forget was at PM Open Air Spring Festival @ Mandarine Park, Buenos Aires Argentina in which I had the opportunity to play in front of more than 12,000 souls. UNFORGETTABLE!

If you had to choose: DJ-ing or producing?

It's a tricky question! But I think that today one part could not live without the other. I think they both feed each other for inspiration. Being able to finish a song and then that same weekend go out and try it out, is priceless!

What's next for you in the coming months?

What awaits me in the next few months and until the end of the year will be to finish a lot of music that I have in progress and then try to sign it on my favorite labels! And of course keep smashing the dance floors every weekend.

Why is Dobar House the best label on the planet earth?

Because it meets all the necessary qualities to be! Experience, good music, top artists and excellent communication. Keep it up and don't stop the good work guys!
