Hope you guys like the interview, and that you'll come and dance with us in Aquarius on 14th of April!

We are super happy to have you here in Zagreb for the first time. How do you feel playing places you've never performed before?

Kolter: Thanks for having me over soon! I’m really looking forward to the event. I don’t know what to expect as I’ve also never been to the country for vacation before. But I’m sure I’ll leave with a big smile in my face 😊

Your music is very popular amongst the clubbers and festival goers, and that goes for Dobar House crowd as well, and it seems to us like you have hundreds of tracks released. Do you know the number, and whatever it is, where's all that inspiration coming from?

Kolter: I lost count, haha. The number of releases is that many because I always tried not to be my own judge when it comes to my productions. I always have a list that I sent out to people and if they feel it, my mission is done! If the track makes 1 person in this world happy then I don’t care if it doesn’t meet the top production standards of tracks before or others, I just release it. The source of inspiration varies a lot. Most of the time, it comes from music that I really felt when I heard the set of a warmup DJ or a friend playing something new to me in his living room.

Can you tell us a bit about your new label Koltrax?

Kolter: I don’t really know if I can talk much about it. As with most things, I just do what feels right in that moment. And now, I wanted to start a label that is somehow bound to my real last name. Visually I want it to refer to Videogames which I used to play when I was younger. I do the same for a lot of music productions. I love bringing in some old sounds from games which I used to play.

Do you have a favorite track of yours? Which one is it and why?

Kolter: Right now, It’s 'Bust a Beat' which is coming on Koltrax’s first EP (KOX01). I’m very happy that I somehow managed to feature a super cool piano riff from my vintage gear that I bought in it. It adds a touch of nostalgia, I think.

What do you enjoy doing in your private life? Any hobbies, interests, travel, or chill plans you like to put into action?

Kolter: I love playing football on a Wednesday evening with the people which I’ve known for 20 years now. It is my little fitness thing that I do during the week to counter the parties on the weekend. Without them, I feel like a wet sack and I absolutely hate missing a session. I also love taking my camera with me on the gigs sometimes when I have time to check out the city upfront.

You had your share of traveling the world, so we would like to know what stuck with you the most so far. Is it a city, a country, or a rave? What's something you'll never forget?

Kolter: I will never forget my recent trip to Japan. It has always been my absolute dream to go there. And to be able to combine it with my music was even better. Apart from video games, I watch a lot of anime and if you like that stuff, you will definitely get your fair share of it when you’re over. From the little cartoon characters in the metro station guiding you on how to operate the ticket machine to the adverts in the city using shin chan to show you the proper side of walking.

What was the first thing you saw or heard that made you realize you wanted to be a DJ or a producer?

Kolter: I can’t remember. It was not one particular event that made me go like „Hey I want to be a DJ“. I just loved house music and from the moment never left my life.

The best and worst thing about going on tour?

Kolter:
Pro: I usually don’t have to pay much anymore to go out :D
Con: Little sleep and being away from my family.

Where would you teleport right now if you could?

Kolter: To my couch playing the latest addition to my PS4 games: Ghost of Tsushima! Nah just kidding. I don’t want to teleport anywhere because I love doing this interview for you guys.

You have a lot of fans here who have been DEMANDING your set in Zagreb for a long time, and we can't wait for it to happen in Aquarius! If you want to say something to those who will be attending the event, now is the time! ☺

Kolter: Excuse my mixing skills. I swear there were a lot of needle skips on the tracks!
